You have arrived -
Crackpot Chronicles is now located at http://ccblog.ellensander.com/.
If that is not what you see in your browser's address bar You will be automatically redirected in 30 seconds, or you may click here. For feed subscribers, please update your feed subscriptions to http://ccblog.ellensander.com/feeds/posts/default. You can use the Site Feed tab above to update your feed with a click. Sorry about that, it wasn't my idea. I apologize for the inconvenience, should you consider it that, and thank you for sticking with me. This happened because Google, which owns Blogger, discontinued its support of FTP, which they didn't feel was worth the technical effort to continue. FTP is the protocol by which I composed my posts on Blogger and sent them on over to publish on my own domain. CC is now on a server owned and operated by Google. It'd better behave as well as mine did. I'm not really happy about this. It took quite a few hours, including some high tech haggling with my website host, to accomplish. And I'm still patching. Please let me know if any tabs or links break. May I say here, that my web host, Bluedomino.com is a real class act. If you need a good one, I recommend them. Tell them ellensander.com referred you if you go with them. I do get a small benefit from a referral but my recommendation is sincere and emphatic. Google has created a gaggle of fiascos for itself lately. They were hacked in China and are making a flap about pulling out of that market, citing censorship, which, c'mon, up until recently was perfectly OK with them. The indignity of being hacked for some source code along with the network security problem that indicates was a humbling blow. There was the launch of Google Buzz which had the neterati up in arms about an automatic opt-in that pulled your whole contact list with it. They backed off on that one after being roundly bitch slapped online. Now they've taken custody of Crackpot Chronicles, which is probably of no consequence to you (I will let you know if I get the slightest indication that it is of any consequence to you, in what will be my last post here.) I'm on my way to New York for a Passover break. When I get back, I'll look at my other blogging options using this design and hosting on my own domain. This is my blog, I'd rather the files be on my own turf than on Google's. I had to change URL anyway so why not another blog platform? But maybe after a while, I'll either see some advantage in where Google pushed me to or just get used to it. |
Mainer, New Yawka, Beijinger, Californian, points between. News, views and ballyhoos that piqued my interest and caused me to sigh, cry, chuckle, groan or throw something.
